The HOOK: Dean Cain’s first gun

One-time Superman, Dean Cain, may not have had much time to use guns on the screen when he was sporting the blue tights and red cape or living in Malibu, but when he started using them for roles beyond that of The Man of Steel in Lois and Clark, he got hooked.
“How often do you get to shoot guns in Malibu? I’ll answer that: Not often,” he says. “But as I got older, I started to use firearms on set, and I realized I should really get to know about these things. I like the concentration; I like the ability to do things.”
The real hook came when Cain experienced a break-in at his home.
“If you’ve never had your home broken into or been robbed, which I have, it’s horrible,” said Cain. “I’d been through all my football, all that stuff, but my knees started to buckle, because I didn’t think I could protect myself. I didn’t have a firearm. The next day I went out and bought a little short-barreled Mossberg shotgun.”

DID YOU KNOW? 🤔
Did you know that on the Fourth of July, Founding Fathers like George Washington, an avid outdoorsman, celebrated America’s independence with bonfires and musket salutes? Today, hunters and shooters honor this tradition with patriotic range events, often in open fields, echoing the revolutionary spirit. Fireworks may light up the sky, but the crack of a rifle at a July 4th range keeps the patriotic outdoor vibe alive!
