The HOOK: Country rocker Koe Wetzel got his first bow at age 8, but he didn’t take a deer with it until he was 11. 

“With a rifle, you get out there 300, 400 yards away and smack one, but with a bow, it takes a lot of patience,” he says. “It takes a lot of skill, there are so many factors that come into bowhunting: wind direction, being quiet, drawing back on the animal, shot placement.”

Bowhunting, he says, always teaches him something new. And get this: despite his meteoric rise to fame, Wetzel schedules his tours around deer season! Hell yeah. Learn more about this rocker/hunter here:

Imagine it’s the ‘90s and you walk into the notorious Bergin Hunt and Fish Club, the lair of John Gotti, head of the Gambino crime family. As you rub elbows with the most dangerous members of NYC organized crime, suddenly, you fall into a friendly argument about bass lures. You actually gonna disagree with somebody? Fuggedaboutit. And get this: the social club held Open House events, inviting the public (and surely FBI agents) inside.
