DID YOU KNOW…? 🤔

During the Revolutionary War, American sharpshooters used muzzleloading flintlock rifles to hunt and fight, contributing to their country’s independence. An expert rifleman could hit a target out to 300 yards with iron sights — that’s pretty good even by today’s standards.
The idea of using firearms to target specific enemies was relatively new to the formal battlefield at the time, with major armies focused on volley fire from muskets and cannons. The unconventional concept of the sharpshooter had been put to deadly use during the French and Indian War, and was used on a larger scale during the Revolution. But these accurate firearms had a major drawback — a skilled soldier could reload and fire a smoothbore musket three to four times in the time it took a rifleman to reload once.

Ruger 10/22 Carbon Fiber + SilencerCo Switchback: Gun Review
The new Ruger 10/22 Carbon Fiber tips the scales at a svelte 3.5 pounds, largely thanks to its carbon-fiber-wrapped barrel. FIREARM PRO TIP
Handgun skills need constant refreshing and honing, and if you carry a pistol for self-defense, you have to train with it, and all your other CCW gear, on the regular. Firing round after round at paper targets from a perfect shooting position won’t do you a ton of good in a life-or-death situation. Shoot your CCW from different, and awkward positions, practice your draw and presentation constantly with the kind of clothing you usually wear, and train with the holster, belt, and ammo you use every day. Ensure you are prepared for the moment when your life may be on the line.
