🌟 EXCLUSIVE: 🤠Jason Aldean on His Love of Hunting
PLUS: Tim Montana’s Wise River Club, Federal’s Krystal Dunn & MORE
WHAT’S INSIDE 👇
Jason Aldean’s love of hunting was born in Georgia when his father’s annual Thanksgiving trip turned into an escape into the deer hunting woods, sometimes joined by his grandfather.
“My dad lived in Florida, so he would come up to Georgia every Thanksgiving and stay for about a week, 10 days, and he would hunt the whole time he was there,” he reminisces. “He would just take me with him as a kid. Him and my granddaddy.”

TIM MONTANA’S WISE RIVER CLUB
8-min read
If you’ve ever spent much time in the Butte, Montana, area, you’re probably quite familiar with the legendary Wise River Club. If you haven’t heard of it, you’d do yourself a favor by putting it down on your bucket list for a future road trip.
“The oral history says it was started in 1896,” Tim Montana said in an exclusive interview with Hook & Barrel. “The first tax record I can find is 1900, and the first photograph I’ve been able to pinpoint is 1911.”
His family has a long history with the WRC.
“My mom hung out there,” he said. “My grandmother did too. I have been going since I was a little boy. Generations of my family have hung out there, along with famous people from Evel Knievel to Hank Williams Jr. to Kid Rock.” More here.
SPOTLIGHT: FEDERAL’S KRYSTAL DUNN

Team Federal’s Krystal Dunn opens up on her upbringing, her journey with guns, competitive shooting and becoming a member of Team Federal. Of interest are her earliest shooting memories.
"When I was little, I would go with my dad and his friends to the range. Looking back, I realized, 'Oh, he wanted to go to the range with his buddies, but he was on little kid duty.' I’d have my safety glasses and big ol’ earmuffs on, and I’d sit there while my dad and his friends shot. And slowly, he started introducing me to little .22 rifles and pistols. And I remember, when I was little, he’d have the bucket, and when we were finished, he’d have me pick up all the brass and put it in the bucket." Click for more.
UFC’s VALENTINA SHEVCHENKO
9-min read
To say that Valentina Shevchenko isn’t your typical woman would be a vast understatement. The 36-year-old Kyrgyzstani UFC fighter has been practicing martial arts for most of her life and is the first Kyrgyzstani-Peruvian fighter to win a UFC championship. As the current Women’s Flyweight Champion, she is also #1 in the UFC women’s pound-for-pound rankings.
In addition, the mixed martial artist is an accomplished shooter who I’ve had the pleasure of spending time with before. As deadly as she is in the ring, in real life, she’s soft-spoken, gracious, and extremely humble. Read on.
BFGOODRICH: TIRES FOR OUTDOORS
13-min read
BFG’s roots run deep in the outdoors, originally designed to be the toughest tires on the market to get outdoorsmen to their destinations.
“One of our earliest publicity photos from 1903 pictured two outdoorsmen driving off-road, cross country with a dog in a Winton motor carriage,” said Harold Phillips, GM of BFGoodrich Global. “And those first tires were actually an effort to diversify from BFG’s first product, fire hoses.” Click for more.
